D-Day Veteran Refuses Obama’s Invitation For Private White House Meeting…
#1
Quote:Some of the veterans attending the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings here in France have fascinating stories.

Take George Ciampa, the most vibrant and spry 89-year-old I have ever met. In 1944, he landed in Normandy as a soldier assigned to the 84th Graves Registration Unit. “I spent the next few years going from France to Germany helping to bury people,” he told me. He was involved in setting up the temporary military cemeteries in Normandy that have now become stirring memorials to our fallen dead. [...]

This week, George received a call from the White House, who said they knew he would be over in France during D-Day, and wondered if he would attend a private meeting the White House was arranging for veterans with President Obama.

George thought about it for awhile and concluded he just couldn’t.

“I have so many issues with the president’s policies, including the most recent ones,” he told me ruefully.

“I just couldn’t convince myself to do it.”

I have mixed feelings about this.

Like it or not, Obama is still POTUS and one of his functions is to honor and support our troops and vets. How well he does it is a matter of debate, but he is POTUS.

On the other hand, it is within George's rights to deny that jackass a photo op.
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.

Don't you see, he's not doing his job, That's the whole point. he does not honor the men and women in uniform,
His budget nobody Else's, wanted the cut the BX budget buy 1B, cut 1billion out of a budget of 1.6billion wouldn't leave much left, Not much love there

less than 1% pay raise this budget cycle. Don't judge him by his photo ops, judge him by his actions..

OH, BTW N Korea this morning has now detained 3 Americans, Who would've thunk it.
With the Second Amendment saying what it says, Why isn't the Federal Government Suing NY

I can't say that I blame George, given this gov't's treatment of vets lately, including Barry's predecessors.

I wouldn't go the the VA for any type of inpatient treatment. The outpatient clinic here is very good, but the nearest VA hospital is not a place for the faint of heart. no pun intended

Is nobody is asking how or why the White House is tracking individual Americans and their travel plans and cross referencing with military service and actual battles they fought in?

My Dad is 88 and served in the Battle of the Bulge. I know he would refuse to go to the White House for a ceremony. His reply would be... Nuts!

If you don't get it, look up Gen Anthony McAuliffe

Just goes to prove that a 89 year old veteran is not as senile as those that voted for this POS ...... and more courage in his little toe than the CINC has in his whole darn body.....
You want to take my guns away ???? SCREW YOU ............
