I received a funny email from him recently:

We’re winning! Well, we were winning.

Unfortunately, the tactics of some well-meaning pro-gun people threaten to reverse many of our gains. In parks and public places throughout the U.S. gun owners are flaunting their Second Amendment rights by openly carrying firearms at rallies and marches, sometimes getting cited in localities where this is against the “law.” One of these demonstrators showed up for court bearing a PS90 (a scary-looking gun if ever there was one), two handguns, and some magazines. NRA members should do everything we can to discourage these tactics.

The issue is not that the tactics are too confrontational, but that their cost-benefit math is not in our interests. Sooner or later someone will be convicted of violating one of these unconstitutional ordinances, a state Supreme Court will uphold the conviction, and local governments will have all the cover they need to roll out new anti-gun restrictions.

Where are the benefits? I don’t see a lot of new blood coming into our movement as a result of open-carry demonstrations. It’s hard to believe that many people would see a pro-gun guy armed as though for downtown guerrilla combat, and think “I want to be just like him.” I do see some signs of anti-gun groups getting mobilized.

I’m also not seeing a wave of localities repealing anti-gun ordinances after we come in and scare the bejesus out of them. Perhaps we would get better results if politicians didn’t know that they won’t get hurt on election day regardless of how many loud noises the scary-gun people make at rallies and marches. We shoot blanks and everyone knows it.

The tactics are all downside and there’s no upside. Let’s stop it if we can.

Yours in Freedom,

Dale W. Woolridge

So, Mr. Woolridge, are you a member here? I'm scratching my head reading this againwhat exactly did you hope to accomplish by sending this out to random people? Piss them off? As a self described NRA volunteer, you may want to think about the message you're sending out. A message that essentially says, "We're pro-rights, but only if you conceal, or don't exercise them." Or how about, "The NRA: We Only Support Those Who Use Their Tactical Advantage". Maybe even, "The NRA says: stop these open carry freaks!"

Mr. Woolridge...you're a fucking moron, sir. "Let's stop these guys from carrying guns in a legal manner!" Hey, while we're at it, why not push for limited count mags, and universal background checks?

I wonder if the NRA knows he is playing this game?

He obviously does not know what he is talking about.

And just to be clear, I didn't violate any rule concerning posting his info. It came to me in an email that was basically spam, and I'm sure tons of people got the same email.

Where have you publicly shown the email addresses he used?

So far it has been Jaw and Tottie who has received an email. Apparently he was at a rally they were at.
