Delaware County Field & Stream Important Notice
#1
Members and non members alike, even those who may have a problem with some of their rules .... there will be a zoning hearing on Monday, October 22, 2012 on whether or not to allow a developer to build a "cluster subdivision" along the property line of the DCFS trap and air-gun ranges.

Please come out help to preserve and support one of Delaware county's only outdoor ranges by voicing your opposition to the proposal.

Unfortunately I have to work Monday night so I will be unable to attend the meeting.

I did talk with a couple folks in the know about this though and my assumptions were correct, traffic is not an issue. The main concern is, if this is allowed to be built, the frivolous lawsuits that could drain the club finances. One big problem the developer is going to have is the plans call for an emergency access road, the plan has it going through the trap #4 field. DCFS isn't going to allow that.

Another concern, if it's built, is kids wandering onto club property.

All in all DCFS could end up like Wicens, walking on eggshells just to be able to exist.

DCFS has been around since 1939. I hope it's around for another 73 years.

Please try to make the meeting and show your support.

DCFS doesn't think that could happen based on research and circumstances, but anything is possible.

For some reason in a "major" election year the heavy highway contracts are held back, only letting a few get bid and worked on.

Thats strange. My bil works for cc&t (milling machine mechanic) hes got more work than you can shake a stick at. But then again, hes doing a lot of airport work also. Jersey turnpike is keeping him pretty busy too.

We do most of our work within the City of Philadelphia, that's where I'm talking about, if it wasn't for a few jobs outside the city we would be really bad off. We we've had state work in the city but next to nothing for the city itself.
