Democrats propose $10,000 fine for gun owners who don’t have insurance

Sometimes I wonder if they are intentionally trying to cause a backlash.

Everyone now understand what "Fast & Furious" meant ?? It's for the Legislation blitz that would follow their "planned" event.

That flopped, but their new hero is Lanza, maybe they'll put him on Mt. Rushmore.

A contingent of liberal Democrats in Congress is proposing a new federal gun control idea: mandatory liability insurance for gun owners.

When New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney introduced the legislation last month with eight other Democrats, she boasted that it is “the first bill to require liability insurance of gun buyers nationwide.”

Maloney’s “Firearm Risk Protection Act” requires gun buyers to have “a qualified liability insurance policy” before they are able to legally purchase a firearm.

It also calls for the federal government to impose a fine as much as $10,000 if a gun owner doesn’t have insurance on a firearm purchased after the bill goes into effect.

The bill also has exemptions for an state, federal or local law enforcement. In other words only the peons have to get it

It discriminates against those most likely to need a firearms for self defense - the inner city poor. You could go so far as to call it racist let alone unconstitutional.

I'm sure the criminals will be forming lines around the block to buy insurance.

It is like the knucklehead from Philly proposing something similar:

I propose a $10,000 fine for any buffoon who tries to infringe on my right to keep and bear arms.

Checks can be made payable to....
and to the dust you shall return
