I was going to get a Wnchester 1300, but after having gotten enough Christmas money, I was going to get yet ANOTHER AR upper instead. But then someone offered me a stainless Ruger M77 Mark II in 308. for $260. Gorgeous walnut stock, Ruger rings, no irons.
Im seriously leaning toward the 308. But pretty soon, we're expecting the seasonal flood of used hunting rifles to come through. Its that $260 dollar price that has me on the hook.....

I'm a sucker for anything under two-three hundred dollars. Especially if the item costs a lot more than that new.
I mean, what's a few hundred dollars these days? You'll spen that much on a small handful of ammo anyway.
I don't even know what it is and I'm interested in it for $260! And stainless to boot?

I was curious, so I started gettin' Goggly and while I don't know the exact model, they seem to sell from $500 to $700.

The walnut Ruger 77s I've seen all had real nice looking wood, I'd be on that like stink on poop.

If you decide to pass on that deal would you please be so kind as to pass the contact info along to me so I can buy it?
The Ruger Model 77 isn't known for spectacular out of the box accuracy, (you don't hear of many competition shooters building Rugers), but it is a nice looking rifle, solidly built and plenty accurate enough for whitetail hunting and anything else I'd want it for. That sounds like a good price unless there's something wrong with it.

Those who make things happen,
Those who watch things happen,
And those who wonder what happened.
