To go slightly off thread, I have a Garand, Carbine (both CMP rifles in excellent condition - way better than the Service Grade that CMP graded them), and a Armalite AR-15 (20", fixed carry handle, etc.). Now I need to get an '03A3 and a Springfield M1A to have replicas of the US main battle rifles from 1900 to present.

So in that light, I would need a GI 1911 be it Colt (first choice) or one of the other manufactures of WWI or WWII 1911's. Then that leads to even more military sidearms to get if I wanted to get battle rifles and handguns Rolleyes

I'm not a Colt fanboi, but if you're collecting 1911's, then I suppose you kinda do need one. I'm not a collector, so I'm not ready to drop a chunk of change for a gun that won't shoot out of the box, and that's backed by some of the worst customer service in the firearms industry. I've shot a bunch of Colts, the only one I really liked was their .38 Super model.

Ugh that trigger looks so ugly. What's the squeeze force on it? Same as a PT / Kimber? I really like that ribbing on the bottom of the magwell even if there's no mag that will ever make that pretty and flush.

p.s. love the bottom rail.
