Fact of the matter is we need more gun owners to unite and come out to vote for the same candidate and we need the Hispanic vote. Hispanics are the most rapidly expanding ethnic group in the nation. Marco Rubio could win their vote if he keeps a cool head, but he also can't be a rhino. However a lot of people did think by nominating Sarah Palin as the VP, the republicans would get a lot of the women vote too.

The difference, I believe, is that McCain's folks tied her down way too much and wouldn't let her really defend herself. I don't think that there is anyone in the Republican party who could do that to Rubio. Not sure what I think of him yet, at least not entirely, but he does seem to be his own man.

I agree that Republicans need to start capturing more of the Latino vote, but hopefully they find someone other than Rubio as he's definitely a RINO.

I'm missing it too. All of the sudden, today, there are a couple of usual suspects on my ass for some reason. I thought we had gotten past the fallacious accusations of being an anti gun obama supporter.., I guess I was wrong.

Justin

Because the usual suspects are testy and particularly whiny as of late, and considering that they still can't get past their middle-school level variations on Obama's name it's not particularly shocking to me that they would accuse you of supporting him.

I've also been pissing off a couple of these usual suspects in particular lately because I'll jump into the middle of their little hate-fests and point out that some people don't vote based on one singular issue. Whatever, my election prediction came true: Obama won, the Congress is still Republican, and no matter the result we all get to see a liberal in the whitehouse.

Anyway, back to the regular thread full of bullshit about master plans; traitors, defectors, and sides; and general malcontent.

The House is Republican. The Senate is still Democrats territory.

233 republican house members & 45 senators against 53 democratic senators and 200 house members, with beneficial rules for the minority in the Senate

Is your point that I said the "Congress is Republican" rather than the house? Oh the humanity let me go slap myself silly for putting it that way.

Your President had himself a big day yesterday Iron sight.

You were definitely right, he is not a threat to our gun rights in the slightest. Good thing you and your fellow Democrats made sure to stop Romney, god only knows what anti gun restrictions he'd be demanding on national TV right now...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the election has been over for two months. Put your big boy undies on and try to contribute something useful to the conversation. You come off as a spoiled child sitting in the corner, mad because you didn't get to pick the video game everyone was going to play.

It will be very interesting to see who they nominate, I would be ok with Marco Rubio based on the little I have read so far. To be honest though long term I am concerned we're heading towards a one party system. The Republicans seem to be really inept. That's not to say Democrats are better but they're silver tongued devils with the support of the MSM, those facts give them staying power. Plus the handouts they give out help grab votes from the vast "moocher" class. I pray the Republicans get their act together and we see the rise of other political parties as I view the two party system as a farce.

I get a good feeling that firearm owners will come out of recent events in good shape but I am deeply concerned about the future. I don't see a force coming about in the near future that truly challenges the Democratic Party. If a strong counterbalance doesn't emerge I fear we will eventually lose our 2nd Amendment rights as Liberal policies seem to be dictating the future of the Democratic Party. I hope I am wrong. Sad

Who "they" nominate? Who we the voters nominate. Biggest problem in politics, our electorate stays home from the primaries. That gets you exactly who you ask for.

Either way, OMao thinks he's ....well OMao. His idol. Even pays tribute on the WH Christmas tree.
Truly sick that he got elected.

Hey good post, +rep to you; and I apologize for my snappy and admittedly not funny reply to your post above
