No! There's already too much government intrusion into private property rights, why would you want to give them any more?

When I started carrying almost 4 years ago, I decided that I would simply stop going places that did not want me OCing within their establishment.

So far I avoid Toys R Us, and the mall. That's it.

Are you proposing a solution in search of a problem?

The York Galleria Mall on the east side. I also understand that the West Manchester Mall has a policy against weapon carry, but we never go there either. We just don't seem to have much use for malls.

Are you saying that the government should allow carrying in those places, or they should force property owners to allow carry? Big difference between the two, so let's get on the same page.

I am going to try to answer your questions the best that I can but I am not sure if I fully understand what you are asking.

I do not and would never support a law that requires private property owners to allow me on their property if they do not want me there because I have a firearm. This applies to restaurants, movie theaters, banks, anywhere the public can go. I believe that private property owners have the right to restrict access and service for any reason they see fit, including the carrying of a firearm. With that being said, and this is purely an academic musing, the Civil Rights Act makes it illegal for businesses to turn away individuals for certain reasons and I always wondered why firearm owners, as we are exercising a Constitutional right, are not covered under that.

I also do not believe that the Federal government should be able to restrict where I can carry (post office, federal buildings, schools etc etc).

As far as a law that will allow me to carry in all 50 States. I fully believe in State's rights but I want the government to enforce the 2nd Amendment, which does allow the people to carry anywhere in this country. I do not support a new Federal Law that would do this because that new law would probably also include licensing requirements, training requirements and higher fees.

And just a side note: You mentioned banks, restaurants, ball parks, and malls. In this State it is already legal to carry in those places unless the owner says otherwise. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.
