Doomsday Prepper Arrested
#1
Do you guys remember the Doomsday Preppers with the guy that planned to rob his neighbors for supplies? He also made "bullet proof" armor from bathroom tiles.

A Pierce County survivalist featured on the reality TV show "Doomsday Preppers" has been arrested for illegally possessing weapons officials say he planned to use to rob his neighbors.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department arrested Tyler Smith Wednesday morning at a home in Bonney Lake. Smith is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, but was seen loading and firing two rifles on his Buckley property in the episode filmed March 2013. It aired November 2013.

Unless a felony is violent in nature, people shouldn't be prohibited from ownership once their sentence and/or court approved ownership suspension is up.

Oh, you had a felony tax evasion? Time served plus probation/no guns until completion of probation.

Oh, you beat the shit out of your wife/robbed/raped/murdered? You are banned from anything more dangerous than a wet noodle... Forever.

if you can't trust them with a firearm, why the fuck are they out of prison?

Well, in a perfect world, I could agree with your question 100%. (being released from prison)

That isn't the way things work though here in the real world.

So a prohibited person with a criminal record as a sex offender goes on national TV and is firing guns he owns on his own property, and makes statements about how when things go bad his plan, which he said in seriousness, is that he will rob his neighbors--and people want to defend his right to own guns?

Sounds like he did himself in. If you're going to be committing a crime, it's probably best not to do it on a national TV show.

I am sure his neighbors are happy that he is in jail again, I would be if he was my neighbor.
