Quote:NJ teachers union wants more gun-free zones

The New Jersey teachers union endorsed a state Assembly bill that would turn schools and surrounding areas into gun-free zones.

Though the Assembly approved more than 20 gun-related bills recently, the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) will back only three of them. In addition to creating more gun-free zones, the teachers union also supports a bill that prohibits the state from investing pension funds in gun companies, and another establishing a task force to study school security.

NJEA Vice President Wendell Steinhauer called the legislation “common sense.”

Well, say goodbye to your jobs then.

Ooh... a study! That could work. I mean, it might not be quite as effective or efficient as allowing law abiding licensed teachers to carry their firearms on school property (instantly creating a hard target out of a soft target/high score kill zone), but yeah, I bet the panel doing the study could possibly stop bad guys at some future point. Like be physically getting in between an active shooter and his prey.

I wonder how many more kids and other teachers will be required to die in these government mandated kill zones before the panel determines it has enough data for begin forming an opinon to argue over (ad nauseam... sic semper government).

Admit nothing.  Deny everything. Demand proof.
If we lie to the government, it's a crime. If the government lies to the people, it's called politics.

You also have to remember that NJ is a may issue state. You either have to be a politician or retired cop in order to get a LTCF.
