Must be nice to be the elite.

Why were the aggravated assault charges dropped in this incident? It doesn't just happen without the approval of the district attorney and they don't give two shits if it's a cop or not.

I believe they were dropped because he was up for a promotion and having an AA charge would certainly have jeopardized that. Do you expect me to believe that the DA's don't give leniency to the police when it's such minor things as that? Why would traffic charges be dropped? That has nothing to do with the DA.

Having a hard time with this one (not saying u r lying, you know I love u man) ... no way the DA's office would withdraw charges against a police officer because of a promotion. Once charges are filed, the cop is just a witness...it's now the DA's case. Could they get dismissed by the judge..yes.. But then they can get 're-filed in front of another judge should there be any shenanigans. Do you have a link to the incident? I'd think it would have been on the news...if it was, it would be fairly easy to see what happened with it.

As for the traffic cases....if a cop felt strong enough to write another cop then the corruption took place on the bench with the judge. If the fix was in, I'd say it was with the judge. "Favors" are not like they use to be... my daughter got two speeding tickets this summer...she had to beg the judge for "no points" and pay her fine like everyone else.

I'm sure some courts and officers are still playing with fire.... know a few that have been charged with ticket fixing and see how quick change happens.

Well there was the entire Philadelphia Traffic Court, which has since been abolished.

Well, the computer was dissected in the cop's car.

He was two times the legal BAC limit in PA and he was going 101mph at the moment of impact.

He's now put on 30-day suspension with intent to fire and is being charged with vehicular homicide. The top defense attorney in the City, who is one of "the" go-to defense lawyers among Philly's drug dealer set, is the cop's lawyer:

Fortunato Perri is also the lawyer who got that highway lieutenant found not guilty after punching that female at the Puerto Rican Day parade.

He is entitled to whatever defense he wants and can get. The question is more so if he was treated differently than anyone else and to that I suspect the answer is a big blatant yes.
