Error in Grover Norquist's No Tax Hike Pledge - It allows for the Fiscal Cliff

If you interpret Americans for Tax Reform's pledge literally... sitting around and doing nothing to let the Bush Tax cuts from 2001 expire will not violate the language in Grover Norquist's pledge.

It pays to be specific.

Nothing to say on Norquist, but I love this quote.

Some people get it.

Quote:What's so funny about all the Romney posts is that Romney actually banned guns while he was Governor of MA.

That's kind of like whining that your enemy wasn't victorious over you.

Not voting and letting the Bush era tax cuts expire is not violating the pledge, as no action was actively undertaken (as in a vote to increase them) to violate Norquists 1986 blathering.
A gun rack in a pick-up is not for holding guns. Its a place for women to hold on to. Smile

I don't know how I feel about the military-industrial complex seeing the biggest chop ever in its funding. Far worse than what BRACC did to bases.

Part of me says--we can't afford to be the World Police any more. The other part of me says... well--a job opportunity for millions of Americas to escape the slums, most likely the ONLY shot for those people to escape the rungs of the poor and go directly into the middle class once they're out, could narrow. Significantly.

Recruitment will follow the reduction in Pentagon spending and the military can afford to make the ASVABs more difficult to pass to attract more quality and spend less on getting recruits up to speed on catching up on CFS* which poor schools can't seem to adequately instill.

Not having the military around to catch young poor people as well as in the past will have social consequences.

And costs.
