What would you consider essential gear to have around? I'll let you guys start.

I'll throw out some low tech items:

- Shovels
- Pickaxe
- Wood Splitter Axe
- Chopping axe
- Large Wheel barrow / Garden cart
- Matches
- Lamp Oil
- Oil lamps
- Rope
- Bungee cords
- Various hand tools (hammer, saw, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, etc)
- Scrap wood & plywood
- Gas cans (preferably filled)
- Sharpening stone
- Twine
- Collection of nuts/bolts/screws/nails

Just off the top of the head. There's tons more, obviously.

- Fishing gear (rods, reels, extra line, tackle, etc)

- foot air pump for inflatable

(yes, all 3 kinds separate)
- lightweight nylon tents
- heavy canvas tents
- tent spikes
- extra tent poles
- tent repair kits

Dont forget OIL for the OIL lamps. Im stocking up on pilar candle. they are cheap and dont require fuel.
