Family visiting from MA
#1
My brother and his wife will be visiting from MA this week. He would like to buy a pistol (not here in PA) for his wife for home use as he is a OTR truck driver away from home. He "thinks" I am a gun expert so he while here he would like me to take them to the range so she can try a couple different guns and get my "expert opinion" on each one.

If we go to Classic Pistol, can they rent pistols even though they are from out of state? Is there a such thing as a "Straw Rental" if I was to rent them and let her try them? I would be the "already have a gun" in case CP has that rental policy...I'm not sure if they do.

ETA: I just realized my membership there expired...and I don't have the $$$ right now to renew. Does anyone know if you have to be a paid member to rent?

No direct answer but a suggestion if all else fails. Put out a general call for help on here. I did a "let's shoot each others gun day" a few years ago and it was a huge sucess...lots of folks showed and many choices to shoot. Offer to have the ammo fo the calibers you wish to shoot as a courtesy. Good luck.

There is no law about renting. Up to the shop. A tourist from China can rent a pistol.

You could always take a ride up to the PLEOA Firing Line.
No membership needed and they will rent to anyone.

I don't know classic pistol's rules, but there's a place called The Firing Line north of you that rents as well. I shoot there a bit but don't rent so I'm not caught up on their rental rules but you don't need to be a member to rent things as far as I know.

Depending on how far south in Bucks you live that could be an option, if I manage to have free time I'm always up for joining a shoot too. I see a lot of different pistols and work with customers a lot on finding a good fit for them, so if you want some help feel free to drop me a pm, I would not call myself an expert, just very familiar.
