Federal Firearms Cases, FY2008
This seems to be the most recent study on file. Be advised it covers GCA '68 and NFA '34 cases plus Arms Export Act.

If you need data to use in arguments this might be a good place to mine.

Here's a sample:

Quote:A total of 8,595 defendants were charged with federal firearms offenses in FY2008, compared to 8,935 defendants in FY2007, a decrease of 4%. Federal firearms cases closed in FY2008 involved 8,824 defendants, compared to 9,160 defendants in FY2007, a decrease of 4%. (Table 1)

Read it, analyze it, make the best possible use of it.
