I think the joke is that many hunters will look at this and think they're safe because their gun isn't listed, but they own something similar that is.

And remember...this is only the by name ban, there are other factors as well that will invalidate a LOT of other guns.

Yeah, I guess my sarcasm didn't come through quite as I had intended. They obviously have a litany of items that automatically make a firearm an "Assault Weapon" in 2013. Too bad we can't do something about outlawing "Assault Idiots," of course DC would be empty then. Wink

I just looked at the story on CNN, and went to the comments expecting to come back furious.

I'm not...there is quite a few people standing up for gun rights, and I'd say that the majority I've read are NOT please with her.

Of course, that is not scientific in ANY way, but it is encouraging.

Depends on their wording for a threaded barrel. Could include shotguns that can accept a choke.

More Polarization.

She basically described it as her lobby vs our lobby.

They got it down Dont they?
Man vs woman, black vs White vs Hispanic,
Gay vs straight, D vs R, 2A vs Tyrants, tea party vs OWS, where does it all end with the Oparty of tolerance????

I live in the suburban sprawl outside Philly where there are few hunting areas, but I see many of you from more rural parts of PA refer disparagingly to the Fudds, who I assume from context are sport hunters who apparently don't care about broader gun rights. Just because they don't use modern sporting rifles or handguns, do they really not care about 2A and gun rights? I find that hard to believe accept in negligible numbers. If we don't have everyone on-board to fight the good fight, we're in trouble.

Take a look at all those "sportsmen" and "sporting organizations" that the Dems have lined up to support the ban. It is more than a few and they are quite definitely what we call Fudds, as in Elmer Fudd. They don't get the concept that if they allow one group of firearms to be banned there will be fewer there to work with them when theirs are on the chopping block.Angry

Youre either with us and in for all of 2A, or you are a Fudd interested in only your bolt action rifle, pump shotgun, and the six inches in front of you and think NOBODY should own a black rifle because you cant hunt with one.

Dont think I can make the distinction any clearer.
