“The officer approached, they got into a struggle, they ended up into a gangway, at which time the young man pulled a weapon and shots were fired,” Adkins said. “The officer returned fire and unfortunately the young man was killed.”
According to Dotson, the man fired at least three times. His gun then jammed, though he continued pulling the trigger. The officer fired 17 times. By early Thursday morning, investigators had recovered bullet casings from two guns, Dotson said, as well as a 9 mm Ruger believed to have belonged to the man.

Of course, the out of control community doesn't care, and "witnesses" we're claiming more ridiculous tripe like "he had a sandwich in his hand"...
tolerance for failure meter... LOW
Yea well dont your sandwiches leave shell casings behind? Dodgy That town/area is nothing but a powder keg waiting to go off yet again. Im neither pro or con police but for Gods sake if someone is shooting at you I believe you have the right to defend your self. Maybe he didnt need ALL 17rounds but adrenaline is amazing stuff.

There's a glaring typo in that story that I can't believe nobody caught.

The word "unfortunately" was somehow slipped in where it doesn't belong.
