First Encounter
#1
Not a big deal, but the first encounter I had so...I was standing in line at Subway after work waiting to get a sub when a guy and his kids came in behind me. I ordered and we were waiting around for awhile when I hear a voice right in my ear:

Him: Hey your guns showing you know.

Me: Yeah I know.

Him (hoists a grin on his face): It's called a concealed carry permit in Pennsylvania.

Me: Actually its a License to Carry Firearms, but Open Carry is legal here.

Him: Really?

Me: Yeah.

Him: I thought that was only Texas, not Pennsylvania.

Me: Actually I don't think Texas allows Open Carry but PA does, I have some information here if you want to learn more about it (attempts to give flyer)

Him: No, that's OK.

So at that point I paid and left. Now given the conversation was OK written like this, but he had this sarcastic smile and tone the entire time like I was a dumb-ass that didn't know what I was talking about. Kind of bothered me, but I wasn't going to comment on it; I tried to inform and tried to stay polite. Pretty much everything he said had a really sarcastic tone to it that's obviously difficult to convey on the forums. But it made me want to keep the conversation short.

Slightly annoying, but not that bad I suppose.

Oddly I have had a good bit of people try to "inform" me that my gun is showing. It's like seriously? I know that lol. And they Always are sarcastic about it. And try to educate me.

Hey look on the bright side, at least he didn't ask you if it was real or not.
That has happened to me in McDonalds Roflmao

Good job at trying to educate!

I'm tired of people assuming Texas is some gun rights paradise.

I agree. It baffles me why people think Texas has open carry or less restrictive gun laws than we do. Just like Florida your gun can't be seen in Texas. It has to be very concealed.

That would have been my thought but I deliberately moved against the wall when his kids started moving around because I didn't want them touching it or anything and they were at the table when he started the conversation.

I bet if you had reached down, real quick, and grabbed his sack in a death grip, that sarcastic tone would have fled the conversation..

Oddly enough PA is more pro-gun in legislature than both Texas and Florida. I fully believe people assume Texas is more OC friendly in order to adequately demonstrate their absolute ignorance of the topic.
