Hell yeah. My grandparents lived right on the bay across from Seaside, NJ. I loved spending the summers down there in the 80s. All the great planes that were coming out of McGuire AFB were cool to see.

Used to seeing C141s when I lived in Jersey. McGuire AFB used to be a part of MAC until MAC changed. They now use C17s. At airshows, McGuire would have the C5 and 17 as static displays.

When I was with FRED they were the largest, the Soviets didn't come out with theirs for quite some time after I got to Germany.

These videos don't do it justice but here are a few examples. See the difference in the c17?

Here's another, only because I get a hard on for this shit being an air force brat. My ol' man was a flight engineer on c5's in the AF so I learned all about them growing up. Hell, I was even born on an AFB. Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska to be exact.

Enjoy!

It's amazing these fuckers can even stay in the air! When you see them in the sky they don't appear to be moving at all!

Thanks for the videos, I enjoyed them. Gixxer it must have been cool having family in the military growing up, I bet you must have witnessed some amazing things.

Well, some. Mostly a lot of secrets and a lot when I was too young to remember. My uncle was in the navy and worked on nuclear submarines, that's all he was allowed to talk about....Shrug

I was a Navy brat growing up. My dad's ship was a couple hours out of Newport News, VA on the weekend he and my mom were to be married. They got a Top Secret communication that the entire battle group was to turn around and immediately meet up at new coordinates.

That was the start of the Cuban Missile crisis. He wasn't even able to get a call off the ship to tell my mom what was going on, so he slipped a note to a pilot that was taking a plane ashore and he was able to call her.

Oh, I guess your family moved away from military life eventually?

Wow, that must have been harsh.

Tinfoil on...

Just saw 3 Chinooks fly over my house in rural central PA. Heading northeast at an altitude of 500 feet. Don't see that every day. Actually never...

Tried taking pictures, took a video instead. Here is a screenshot...
