FNH USA FNX-45

The U.S. Joint Combat Pistol Program didn’t exactly come to fruition within the military, but it did cause a number of manufacturers to produce new service-type handguns that consumers now get to enjoy. One of those is the FNX-45 from FNH USA, a polymer-frame, hammer-fired, double-action/single-action pistol based on the model FNH developed for the program.
The FNX-45 is a big pistol, measuring about 7 1/2 inches long and weighing 33 ounces unloaded. FNH focused on battlefield duty and not concealed carry when developing it. The size of the FNX-45 may rule out concealing it under clothing in most situations, but the pistol has plenty going for it as an open-carry or home-defense gun—not the least of which is a healthy magazine capacity of 15 rounds of .45 ACP. I had the FNP 45, pretty much the same gun. I wound up trading it for a 1911. It was not an accurate gun, and was not at all comfortable. Double stack 45 is BIG. And heavy to boot. If I was going for a "battle gun", I still don't know that this would do it. Especially given that I already own a fiveseven.

If money was no object it would be on my medium list of guns to own. Definitely not at the top but worthy of consideration non the less. I'd pick up a CZ 97 again first though. That gun was was beefy but a dream to shoot.

You wouldn't be able to run as many people over with that car if it didn't drive as far. It should only have a 10 gallon fuel tank.

I like the looks of the gun but I am not really interested in a double stack 45. JMO YMMV. Dom
