[For Sale] 5500w Generator for sale
#1
Asking 800.

I have a northern generator for sale, link to the model is below. It puts out 4500watts continuous power. I bought it because it’s the sweet spot for fuel consumption, any bigger and the fuel efficiency drops from 1.5gph to 2gph as advertised.. I let this run once through the night to check fuel efficiency, it ran my house for 8hrs on 2gallons. That’s a forced hot air heater, 1 freezer and one kitchen fridge/freezer and a few lights

After balancing my panel It runs my house except 240v stuff, I don’t have natural gas so I have electric stove and water heater.

I need to go bigger, Didn’t put enough priority on showers at home.

Here’s the link to the generator http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/p..._200467313

I bought it 10/2012

It has 200hrs on it will be changing the oil and plug and cleaning the air filter this week-end getting it ready for the season

It has the wheel kit, I replaced the pneumatic tires with solid tires
I also put a hrs meter on it,

It’s been well maintained, ran it every 6-8 weeks for 1/2 hr, it’s only seen synthetic oil and has always been changed before the 100hr recommended change

My zip code is 18966, I have a pickup so I could help and deliver if needed. within a reasonable distance of coarse.

My advice? It's gonna be a bad winter. Wait for a scary Nor'Easter forecast and then sell on Craigslist......?

Thanks, I'll bump it up a couple times and then i'll put it on craigs list. I know it's priced high for the wattage but you get what you pay for, copper wound alternator and a honda engine..this thing cost me 1200 as it is

As you said that's probably when it will sell, in the mean time I guess I have a spare.

what do ya think? should i put a few pictures up? would it matter? I rarely sell anything, I usually give stuff away I don't need..

Thanks

Pix are always good! And if you wait for a bad storm, people are more likely to pay your price, esp if stores are selling out. Remember during Sandy and then that one storm a few years ago when you couldn't buy a generator anywhere! When we got ours, the stores had slim pickings, as it was before a major winter storm.
