[For Sale] Martin guitar strings
#1
I bought 4 packs of Martin strings on sale thinking that my son would use them on one or more of his guitars. He doesn't use Martin strings. I thought it was a good price on a good brand so I bought them. Now I'd like to see if I can get some money back on them.
I'm asking $6.00/pack or I'll sell all 4 for $20.00. Postage in a padded envelope shouldn't be much. If interested PM me with your ZIP and I'll calculate the postage price.

Musicians are HUGE brand snobs. Including me. Cool

Not just brand, but lines within the brand, and particular gauges as well. I will try other strings on some of my basses, but the ones I use for gigs get the same strings for over 30 years now.

I'll see if anyone I know uses these Martins. There are plenty of Martin guitars around, hopefully you'll find someone local that uses these.

I have a (lower end) Martin but don't need new strings yet. :-) About to sign up for lessons though. So far I only play a bit by ear.

I had a chance to talk to my son this morning and found out that he's not a brand snob, he's just "picky" about his strings. (Pun intended).
When he breaks a string or feels that they need to be replaced he takes it to his favorite local music store and has them restring the guitar, even if he only broke one string. He figures that if one breaks it's the same age as the others and he might as well just start fresh. He doesn't even know what brand they use, he just knows that he likes them and that's what he's used to playing.
He currently owns a 1976 Alvarez, a Fender, a Schecter and a Morrell. The Morrell is his favorite for sound quality. I personally think it sounds better too.
He's had several other brands in the past so I'd say he's not technically a brand snob in my opinion although he likes what he's gotten used to so maybe that would qualify him as such.

So, the strings are up for sale, nothing wrong with them, they're just not what he's been using.

Out of curiosity, what brand does he use?

I have my preferences, but it isn't like you got him GHS boomers or anythings...surprised he rejected them if the guage is the same.
