"The man charged in the 2009 Fort Hood, Texas, shootings, that killed 13 and wounded more than two dozen has been granted a stay of his court-martial proceedings to appeal a ruling that he must appear in court clean-shaven, Fort Hood announced on Monday."

Ok this guy killed several american soldiers and clearly commited treason. It was witnessed. There is no doubt about his guilt. What I want to know is why he was not forcibly shaved already. Further why did he not swing quickly.

Its a damn shame that one cop that got him was not a better shot.

I say they just hide a strong radioactive test source under his pillow for a couple days. No beard, no hair anywhere then we can proceed.

Howaboot we all just settle down. President Obama is already on his way to the base to personally apologize to Mr. Hassan for America making him angry enough to shoot his fellow soldiers. Then the Prez is going to show Nadal his cool Allah ring during a break in the workplace violence seminar.

^^^ Yeah because Obama hasn't been extremely effective at killing terrorists. Rolleyes

On topic, why are WE making an issue over the beard? Try him, convict him, execute him. Why is the beard getting in the way of that process? Time to move it along.

He has to appear, in uniform, at his courts martial. The beard is against the Army dress code which the Army is attempting to enforce, he refuses to shave it in direct violation of all of his commanders. Remember, he is still an Army officer. I say forcibly shave his ass and get on with the show.

I understand that. My point is, why continue to waste tax payer dollars and the military's time for what really is a small issue? Just get it over with. He wins on the beard.

It's the military, you have to follow the rules. The military justice system is quite different from the civilian system. They have very set rules that must be followed/enforced to the letter.
