FPS Russia Raided
ATF of course was on a fishing expedition. FPSRUssia uses Tannerite exploding targets that are legal to own and use:

Quote:Nearly 40 law enforcement officers converged Tuesday on the property of a Franklin County man whose business partner was shot to death in January in a homicide that continues to trouble investigators.

U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents supervised the raid geared at finding explosives used by Kyle Myers, 26, because the ATF believes Myers may be violating a federal law regulating such explosives, according to ATF spokesman Richard Coes.

Federal agents, accompanied by Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents and deputies with the sheriff’s offices in Franklin and Hart counties, raided the Royston residence of Myers. Authorities also raided on Tuesday the 60-acre farm of Lamar Myers, Kyle’s father, in Lavonia.

No arrests were made, nor did Coes know if any explosives were seized.

“The idea at one of the locations was to take firearms, but they did not do that,” Coes said.

Quote:A person is required to obtain a federal explosives manufacturing license if they intend to engage in the business of manufacturing explosives for sale, distribution or for their own business, Coes said.

The ATF believed that Myers was violating this law.

“The claim is that he was using explosives and getting paid for it via YouTube,” Coes said.

Although I'm far from a fan of FPS Russia, I did see a pretty cool 200lb tannerite charge set off on his channel. He claims that you cannot make one over 50lbs but I've yet to see the law pertaining to that. Wonder how much NH4NO3 he was sitting on at the time of the raid.

Edit: 200 not 250

I always thought he was using perfectly legal Tannerite? Well.... now is real name is out there for everyone to know.

Maybe he'll finally post some videos as a real person and not some schtick character.

As far as know, there is no such thing as "illegal tannerite". The only way it's illegal is if it is stored pre mixed in an unapproved magazine, transported illegally or used in a state or local area that prohibits the use of fireworks and explosives. One could argue that it is illegal to use tannerite in Pennsylvania due to the fireworks regulations.

Edit: or used in the commission of a crime or used to make money without the appropriate ATF license. And, IANAL plus I have no idea if what I said was true or false. Wink

What, the raids? Hit a high profile target and scatter the flock?

I wonder where Lon Horiuchi was positioned?

Oh, that's right, Kyle wasn't sitting in a chair holding a 10 month old baby...

I have been watching his videos for a while. Even before the silly accent. He doesn't seem to be the kind to take this sitting down.
This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins. -Ben Franklin

Interesting that they planned on confiscating firearms and then did not. I would love to hear the conversations that took place there.
