Free Shipping @ Midway USA
#1
Time to buy all that heavy crap you've been holding off on due to shipping costs. It ended up saving me about $40 so I thought I'd pass this on.

Midway is offering free shipping from 2/13/2014 to 2/23/2014 for orders over $150.

Promo Code is FS150

Backorders excluded and does not apply to haz. mat. fees.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

This is good news as MidwayUSA's shipping prices suck the big fat one most of the time. And if you only buy something small (like under $10) you get charged a 2nd "small item" fee.

The first time I got hit with high shipping costs and a small item fee was the day I became a Brownells customer.

Small item fee?

So if you need a spring, or other small part to repair a firearm, they charge you more than the actual price as a punishment for bothering them with such a piddly order?

If your order is less than $25, you are charged a $3.00 fee to offset the cost of processing such a small order.

25 bucks!? I don't have that kind of restraint.

That is kinda lame. I didn't know Midway engaged in that kind of bullshittery.

Good to know. Screw that.

I'll gladly pay a higher price elsewhere out of principal.

I hadn't known about the small item fee until it was mentioned in this thread. I guess my orders with them have always been above the threshold. I agree with the general sentiment, Midway has high shipping costs and their prices in general tend to be near Cabelas type pricing. Every now and again though you can find a really good deal, or pick up a part that cannot be found listed or in stock anywhere else. That is what I keep them in reserve for.

I have had to deal with their customer service once and it was nothing short of delightful. An item was shipped USPS and sat in a sorting facility for two weeks without moving. I contacted Midway and they were more than happy to ship a new package free of charge. I asked for instructions on what I should do with the original item if it shows up and they laughingly told me I can keep it. I said I could not do that so they told me that I could refuse the package at the Post Office and it would be returned free of charge. The replacement arrived promptly, and nearly a month later the original package arrived, which I refused and watched online as it was returned to Midway.
