GALLUP: American Optimism Hits Lowest Point Since Carter...

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – Fewer than four-in-10 Americans (39 percent) rate the US in a positive manner – the most negative feedback the country has produced since 1979.

A new Gallup poll finds that Americans are as negative about the country’s prospects as they have been in more than three decades. Americans are more upbeat in their predictions of where the U.S. will be in five years (48 percent positive), but this is the lowest rating since an August 1979 Gallup poll was conducted.......

That last bit is amusing. People seem to think we'll be better off in 5 years. After Obama has left office. Coincidence? I think not.

Not surprising. What's there to be optimistic about? The crippling national debt, the almost guaranteed rise in taxes and equivalent drop in personal net worth, the looming health care shortage, the declining sense of personal responsibility? Hell, the list goes on and on.

What boggles my mind, is how the left thought that Bush was completely and totally inept at everything, yet they WILLINGLY want Obama to give government control of everything not even considering that we could see a president down the pike that (in their minds) make Bush look like how they see Obama.

Incompetence???? ....... hardly.....it's all going EXACTLY as Oplanned.

All those folks who said he doesn't want your guns are the same ones who think it's Bush's fault.......Sorry...not even close.

Exactly as Weather Underground planned.

This is what's blowing my mind. The blinders. I was reading Obama's quote from 2006 about how the request to raise the debt ceiling equaled failed leadership by Bush. The comments from leftists are amazing. They claim that it was different then and it's all Bush's/Republicans' fault so Obama is justified in raising the limit now and blah blah blah.

Anything this guy does is okay, even if it's act like W on steroids, because he's a Democrat.
