General Purpose Goggles
#1
Came to me this morning while I was out in the wind running the snow blower that I don't have a single pair of goggles to use. The wind blowing the snow up on my glasses was pretty annoying after a while. What kind of goggles would you guys recommend for cold/snowy or warm/dusty weather? Need something large enough to fit over prescription glasses.

Bolle X1000 - $55

ESS Striker Tactical XT - $40

ESS Structural Innerzone 3 - $44

Then there's

Harbor Freight 3-Pack Safety Goggles - $3

Harbor Freight Splash Resistant Safety Goggle - $8

Edit to update: I say try the Harbor Freight Splash Resistant Safety Goggles. If they suck, you're only out $8. If they work, then hell, you only paid $8! Plus the reviews look pretty good. People who have prescription glasses used it and liked it.

I use my old Oakley MX goggles.

Sort of like these

Those and some quick spit and you're all set; cold or hot weather.

ETA: I wear glasses and contacts. For the glasses, I used a wire cutter to cut a thin slot on both sides of the goggles to accommodate the earpiece hinge. No noticeable protection issues.

i know they can be expensive but i had to get new glasses this year and i opted to get a pair sport goggle with my bifocal lenses. i had a pair of googles that fit over my eyeglasses that i picked up at the local harley dealer for 25 bucks.
i made sure the new lenses were polarized as well, ordered them a week ago so they should be here shortly. there were about 160 dollars

Just an update, with the snow coming this winter, I finally got around to ordering a pair: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003U9V...UTF8&psc=1

Got those, a little slow on the shipping side, but they did get here. They're comfortable, they fit nicely over my glasses and seem to have a good seal around my face. The lens is replaceable. The only draw back that I can see is the cheesy band. But replacing the band with something better probably wouldn't be too difficult down the road.

See if they offer an amber lense insert. Helps prevent snow blindness.

Are they vented so your eyeglasses don't fog over?

These are from the same company, cost $5 more, and there are more details in the listing. I would bet the same lenses work with both, but Streaker would have to look into that...

Yes, they are vented. The ones Curmudegeon posted appear to be exactly the same except for the difference in the head band.
