I filed a new voter registration in Philly since I moved. I Clearly marked "Republican" and checked it several times before mailing it.

Today my registration arrived in the mail and guess what? They changed it to Democratic! Naturally the number to call is busy. Talk about sneaky. I guess whoever entered my info is related to the teacher that stated "this is a Democratic school".

I worked at entering voter registrations for the City in the past; it ain't rocket science.

I intend to raise hell.

If you live in the city you are automatically a democrat. They won't elect any Republican there. So that means you must have checked off the wrong box and they were nice enough to correct it for you.

Could have been an honest mistake. I'm not sure how they are entered in so I have no idea how easy it would be to select the wrong party. Hopefully you can get it corrected with no issues.

I found another number to call and got a live person. He pulled up an image of my application and called it a 'clerical error'.

Supposedly, it is being corrected and I'll be getting a new card.

I also just re-registered as an Independent and I checked and saw that they had me listed as DEMOCRATIC! I was on the phone like a fucking lightning bolt and the Registration rep said it was keyed in wrong by mistake. She changed it and said my ID will go out tomorrow.

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

Well, now we know how those morons Street & Nutter get elected. In case you didn't know, the Public Schools in Philadelphia are also Democratic schools. True Story.

Honestly, in Philly, it is much wiser to register as a D rather than an R.

The D primary vote is the election that actually determines who runs this place. Also, if you need help from a pol, it is much easier to get it if you're registered either D or I.

Being registered as a R in Philly is not the wisest strategic decision.
