Getting Gamma Seal lid off of Bucket
#1
So, I was putting some rice in a mylar bag, in a 5 gallon bucket. I got some gamma seal lids for christmas, so I used one... BUT, I put the lid on after I had filled and sealed the mylar bag.

Now, I cant get the screw in part to go in, becuase the bucket is too full for a gamma lid, but a normal lid will work.

The problem is, I can't get the gamma lid off now. Is there some trick to getting it to come off?

No, what is it called? I'm assuming "the gamma tool"?

No, it's a 5 gallon bucket lid tool. Your average home improvement store has them for under $3.00.

If that doesn't work, try prying part of it up carefully with a large flathead screw driver.

This is the Gamma Seal Lid tool, but it's meant to help you unscrew them.

Thanks for the help, I'll pick up a bucket tool, and maybe I'll have to put a gamma lid tool on my list of winter projects.

Did you get it off? I'm asking because I had to take one off yesterday, and the tool I recommended wouldn't work to remove it. What I ended up doing was taking a narrow bladed screw driver to pry up the side of the rim just a bit so I could get a longer screw driver inside, then I used the rim to pry against the ring to get it off. It took a little bit, but I was able to get it off and put it on another bucket.
