Glad to see this sub forum

I think a lot of the reasons someone would be in support of the 2ndA apply to being prepared for things that may disrupt our lives for a period of time. I am very happy to see this sub forum here and even more excited to see who the mod is. I will be picking his brain often as I am confident he is a straight shooter and knows what he is talking about.

Thank you, I had actually volunteered to moderate a similar section on another forum, but I never heard back, and the section never got created.

I asked Rocketfoot if I could take care of this section for him as this is something of great interest to me. I hope that we can all share our knowledge and skills here. I'd like to see threads about BoB's, BoV's and anything else related to actually surviving any event that may happen.

I know. I was hoping something would develope there also. I am the only one in my group of friends and family who takes preparing seriously. I have gotten a few people to start understanding the concept and there is hope for them. I am new to it myself but I always did the little things just out of my upbringing. I always followed the mantra to put a little away for a rainy day.

Agreed about this subforum. The government prepares for emergencies to protect itself, there is no reason for regular people not to. I know I want to be as self dependent as I can be in an emergency and not have to count on others. Streaker is the perfect person to mod this section imo.

I'm interested in learning as much as I can about this so where do we start?

Best place to start is to determine what you're preparing for. Are you going to prepare for TEOTWAWKI or just a localized extended SHTF?

Nice, you'll know our questions before we ask. As long as they don't involve electricitySmile

I'm not up on all the acronyms, I get SHTF but the other one went over my head.
