Glock 42, seriously?

Glock dropped the ball! Everyone has been asking for a single stack 9mm for YEARS, they finally make a compact single stack gun but chamber it in .380, wtf! And it's not even a pocket pistol like an LCP, it's sized like a compact 9mm.

Methinks that theythinks that their shit doth not stink.

A "Glock-sized" .380? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Retards.

Seriously. I own a G19, and there's no debating their reliability, but Glock seems to think they are THE peak of firearm development and what could be better than a Glock than another Glock that is exactly the same as any other Glock.

Whatever.

Large LEO market for this pistol and that is what they are after.

Sounds like a competitor for the Ruger LC380, which I understand is enjoying quite good success among the recoil-sensitive set.

Why would you say that? I would think that LEO would want to share ammo with their service pistols.

My buddy carries a Springfield TRP with a Ruger LCP as a "get off me" gun when on duty. That along with the 12ga in the cab and a rifle in the trunk. When I was on a BUG kick a few months back I did a lot of reading around various forums, seems the 380 is pretty popular with LEOs. The mentality is more that it is an absolute last resort. Many seemed of the opinion that the thick baby Gocks (26,27) are too awkward to carry as a backup.

I've seen a few off duty cops come into my LGS and buy small 380s usually presenting their department letters for LEO pricing. I'm assuming that means they are for duty use.

FWIW I never could find a comfortable way to carry my 27 and my 23 at the same time.

Having said all of that I was really hoping to hear about a Glock single stack 9mm and 40 when all this new model hype started up.

This just reinforces my dislike of Glocks. Is it really so hard to design a gun that people actually want? People have been asking for a single stack 9mm for awhile now. People asked for a single stack .45ACP, and Glock produced one, but it's still too goddamned big to be considered a subcompact. Meanwhile, Springfield offers the XDs in .45, and nails the design.

What the fuck, Glock?

The only thing I might replace my LCP with is a Remington R51.....and that's assuming I can comfortably pocket carry it in jeans and dress pants.
