GLOCK rust!
#1
Ok ok its not as big of a deal as it sounds and NO GLOCK HATERS NEED TO COMMENT Big Grin
Glock 23 Gen 4 (bought brand new)
Okay now I have just recently noticed I have rust on the top metal pin on my trigger. Where it seems the fulcrum point is for the little trigger safety. I have also noticed on one of my mags (the only one I have used so far through it) (63 rounds through the gun to be exact) the the metal on top of the mag has started to flake off and the metal seems to be getting rough.

No problems here. I've been carrying my Glock 19 daily for 4 years now.

Ever exposed it to rain while carrying? Or any water at all?

It's weird I have 2 gen 4 Glocks. This is my EDC and it has the rust well It's a very small spot but still. My other gen 4 I have gone swimming with (took it tubing) Big Grin and not a damn speck of rust is on it!!!

Got pics? Are you absolutely positive it is not the gold/bronze colored goo that Glock puts on the out of the factory?

It's been rained on, banged around, covered in spackle dust, you name it. I wouldn't hesitate to go swimming with it on (almost did once).

It would seem to me that inactivity does more harm to things than one would think. Not just in guns but , the more I touch something , the less
this takes hold . I over oil and wipe all things metal where common sense
is needed , like Not to oil certain things where it would attract dust and dirt.
I have drawn a line . Wax and oil , and just touching things seem to spred this film and do more good than not ! OMHO..!

No it is definitely surface rust. My trigger has two pins on the trigger its self, on the left side of the gun. The top pin has surface rust.

And Bac0nfat, you should have done it! haha people were looking at me funny with a gun in the river Big Grin

My Glock 22 had rust inside of the slide after it was cleaned and had sat in my safe for 2 months. I just sprayed wd40 inside it and the rust cleaned right off. I now keep any gun that's going to be stored coated inside with wd40. I haven't had a problem since.

I've found many 3-in-1s don't do shit when storing firearms for a period of time.
