Good affordable water purifing system

I really like the katadyne pocket but there are up to $385 now. Anyone know of good reliable one that is a little more affordable?

Are you looking for portable like the unit you cited or something to keep at home for filtering large quantities of water?

Probably one that I would keep at home. I dont foresee me bugging out with my wife and kids. I will make my last stand here or very nearby.

I'm going to be posting a thread later that goes through everything you need to build your own. I've tested the one I built, and I trust it.

Does yours remove Chemical and bacteria, virus, cysts and such? I like the Berkey so far.
