Government Shutdown
#1
So let me get this straight...America does not want Obamacare so the Republicans try to make a deal to defer it for 1 year. Democraps get mad because they want to ram Obamacare down America's throat so they reject the deal and then blame the republicans for causing a government shutdown! Yeah, that's real nice!

Seems to me that America has spoken but the Dem's do not want to listen...

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

It doesn't matter what the people want.

What matters is what the media tells the people what the people want, and how much of it can be pinned on Bush.

Please shut it down. On the news this morning they said this has happened 17 times in the history of America, 15 of those times it was the dems that did it.

Yes, please shut it down. Let's go one further and make it permanent while we're at it.

On that note, in the extreme there'd be no alphabet agencies and no funding for law enforcement, buy, sell and manufacture what you please.

I have my own water and septic so screw public utilities. I can produce my own electricity if I need to and have plenty of Amish local to learn how to survive without it. Food won't be an issue either. I'm ready for a cleansing, let's bring on anarchy! CHOP CHOP!

Quote:A government shutdown: What could it look like?

David Gregory, moderator of "Meet the Press," weighed in with his perspective on a potential government shutdown, calling it similar to a "staring contest." TODAY's Erica Hill interviews David Gregory.

If Congress fails to pass a budget, the U.S. government would effectively shut down at midnight on Monday.
The sting of government operations going unfunded would be felt deeply by some, but other government entities would continue business as usual.
The details of a shutdown are left to the executive branch of government and the Office of Management and Budget has so far not provided any details. But based on past shutdowns, here are some guidelines on what could happen:

Hopefully some will remember that our Founders hated and feared Democracy more than Kings. And rightly so.

Anyways, .gov shutdown = good. Not raising the debt limit = very bad.
