*sigh*

Suggesting that teachers all need to arm is going off the deep end. Teachers who WANT to arm and are legally qualified to carry should have that right to conceal carry in the classroom, yes I agree with that... but the way people are phrasing this shit out makes it sound like every school should have an armory depot in the smoke-break room so the teachers can lock and load before handing out the big math pop quiz.

That sounds ridiculous no matter whose ears it hits. Word your shit carefully.

First of all, I don't think it's shit and secondly I think it was worded carefully. Did you read it carefully?

Dr. Lott is a very articulate man who chooses his words carefully.

Maybe I'm missing something but I just read the entire article and I didn't see where it was mentioned that teachers all need to arm. I did see where he said:

Quote:People may not realize this, but we allowed permit-concealed handguns in schools prior to the ironically named Safe School Zone Act. And no one that I know has been able to point to a single bad thing that occurred, not one.

And:

Quote:So I think there’s at least a very good chance that if it is known teachers and others there would have permit-concealed handguns, it would have dissuaded the attack from occurring to begin with. Secondly, even if he did attack, it would be by far the safest course of action.

Those quotes came from his answers to the last two questions asked by Newsmax on the subject of arming teachers, where can I find what you read?

There are three types of people in the world:
Those who make things happen,
Those who watch things happen,
And those who wonder what happened.

I read his last 2 editions of "More Guns Less Crime" and although a somewhat difficult read with data, it was a very interesting read. I think he makes a lot of sense.

The more I think about it, the more it does make sense to arm school staff. Protecting my children is a HUGE responsibility, and schools should be up to the task.

And most of the "gun free" world is famous for the mass government sanctioned executions because of the lack of guns"...
