Gun safe lock change. Lock smith wanted
#1
I have a gun safe with a LA GARD electrical keypad on it. I've had it since this past spring and have NOT had any problems with it. However, I'd like to convert it to a mechanical dial for reliabilities sake. I fear that day I go to open my safe..... and it doesn't open. Or when the world is hit by CME's and fries all electronics (I watch too many science shows).

I already contacted the manufacture who makes my safe and they told me that I can convert my safe to a mechanical dial. I just need to contact a local locksmith. I'd also prefer to remove my safe door and take it to the locksmith rather than the lock smith working inside my bedroom closet.

I sent and e-mail to Duty's Lock but have not yet heard back. I don't know of and safe technicians or anything.

Before I end this post, I just did a quick search and found Shearer Locksmith Inc., located right here in Harrisburg. I'm going to send them a quick e-mail.

Any other advice? Am I crazy?
Guns... I have a few.
