Overinflated sense of self importance.

Quote:Most importantly, we can correlate our work with a 25 percent reduction in Philadelphia homicides; in a city where 80 percent of the killing is committed with guns.

Because they figured gun murderers MUST read their silly blog.

Well, they did help CeaseFirePA push for the 5-year man min on straw buyers... but AFAIK the prosecutions of it haven't gotten over a dozen yet.

ShotSpotter is my favorite tool for knocking down the random shooting rate. The latest revisions have accuracy rates down to 12". Go Orwellian in the hood with that shit with cameras that have XYZ/LL pivot and you'll see the rando shootings go way down. It's worked in Oakland and Camden so far.

Did anyone ever tell them correlation is not the same as causation?

Did they fail to mention the overwhelming majority of those firearm related deaths where situations where the shooter was not in legal possession of a firearm, did not follow the City's licensing regulations, and were all of a specific cultural subset that glorifies violence and criminal activity?
tolerance for failure meter... LOW
