Guy shoots and kills 17 year old in Florida

Quote:The fatal shooting of a Florida teenager who was listening to loud music in a car a week ago has drawn comparisons to the Trayvon Martin case, but the differences are significant.
Unlike the Martin case, there were several witnesses to this shooting and there was no scuffle before 17-year-old Jordan Davis was shot to death. And notably, the man accused of firing into the car was arrested a day later.
Michael David Dunn is charged with murder and attempted murder in the Nov. 23 shooting at a Jacksonville, Fla., gas station. The 45-year-old Dunn parked beside the sport utility vehicle occupied by Davis and three other young men and told them to turn the music down, police said. Dunn exchanged words with Davis, who was in the back seat, and started firing. He later told police he felt threatened. His attorney has said Dunn saw a gun and shot in self-defense, perhaps laying the ground work for a case under Florida's "stand your ground" law........

You know, idiots like this are going to REALLY help us lose our rights, faster than we're already losing them.

Imbecile!

Drug dealers in Philly claim they carry because they've been robbed before---to try to justify off violating PUFA. Doesn't work.

Let me guess.. defendant was sane, upstanding citizen, and had a FL permit?

I read the article at Yahoo.com and in the comments section, a guy who lives in that neighborhood left a comment. At the end he made a sage observation. Ten times a day a black guy shoots his girlfriend over a cell phone or a fellow gang member over a dare - no report. no media, no uproar. One time in the last two years a white guy shoots a black guy - we need to ban guns and trot out the racism baiters.

Totally true, which means we white people have to be all the more vigilant to do the right thing and not be another reason for these people to tighten up more laws.

I would propose that two such shootings in three years IS more vigilant. And critics might say that black teenagers are the ones needing to be more vigilant about projecting a respectful outward demeanor.

This report is more about Florida's stand your ground law which antis hate. They always look for one off situations that challenge a law instead of looking at the millions of times it saves lives.

This shooting is not another Trayvon Martin case despite the media looking for years for a similar situation. It's road rage in a well lit location where both parties knew what was going down, not a case of mistaken identity on a dark and rainy night.

Can someone answer my question as to whether the shooter had a FL permit? Or does the MSM not know? If he doesn't even have a LTCF then why the fuck is this even remotely comparable to Treyvon.

White guy shooting black guy. That's why they compare it. Nothing else matters to the media.

^ This.

Assuming the story is accurate - and legalities aside - what are a car full of teenagers doing with a shotgun in the open at 8:00 pm?????? Makes me question if they were legally permitted to be in possession of the firearms. This also makes me wonder if someone did actually try to shoot the shooter but he beat them to it.

I just hope this doesn't turn into the three-ring circus this is shaping up to be...

From the article YOU quoted ( posted by RugerGirl) when you first asked the question ...

Quote:Police didn't know if Dunn had a concealed weapons permit, but said he had the gun for a "long period of time."

IF this story is accurate, I have to hold the opinion that he instigated the altercation by "telling them to turn down the music". He disses a group of yutes by insulting their music and interferes with their right to annoy, and their code forces them to "stand their ground" and put that old man in his place.

Unless they openly started a confrontation out of nowhere, he should have just put up with the shitty music for a brief moment, tanked up, and moved on.

Now a young person is dead and he's farked for life. Eh, goes with the times, I guess.
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.
