The government wants to make sure that it's easier to kill you. Why else would a radical leftist sponsor such a bill?

Tyranny in America.

"H. R. 5344

To prohibit the purchase, ownership, or possession of enhanced body
armor by civilians, with exceptions."

I saw this back in August, I don't think much ever happened with it though. The news died off pretty quick. I know Infidel Body Armor was sending out emails about it, but beyond the normal week of panic following anything like this, it seems to have just went to the back burner.

I lost my body armor in the same boating accident that I lost my SKS & my Mosins. It was a really sad day.

We need a new amendment saying that congress shall pass no law which has exceptions for the government. Anything that affects us should affect them equally.

That's an amendment that I could get behind, as long as it wiped clean all the laws that currently have exceptions carved out for the government.

Good thing I never bought any body armor. I did find this company that sells these really neat steel plates cut to your body shape that are amazing for bodyweight workouts though.
The law? The law is a human institution...

Boating accidents are such a tragedy. There are lots of them happening daily in Lake Michigan off the shore of Chicago. I've survived a few too. Thankfully, my house was nearby and I was able to dry off before hypothermia set in.

How do they plan to do this exactly even if they pass it. It's no secret how these things are made. Are they going to regulate Kevlar fabric or tool steel plates? What about high risk jobs apart from police? What about repo men and bounty hunters who are civilians those people don't have legit reasons to own armor?

First of all, there's no way in hell this will pass.

But to answer your question, they will enforce it the same way as they do every other ridiculous law. How can they enforce the National Firearms Act when anyone with a hacksaw can make an unregistered SBS? The bad guys get away with it, and the good guys do jail time because they posted a picture of it on Facebook.

This bill died in committee without ever seeing the light of day.

Why does anyone need a "reason" to wear or not to wear kevlar jackets? Seriously, I have a motorcycle suit that has enough kevlar over the breast, torso and arms to be considered "body armor". It's meant for riding rice rockets but the few times I do ride I do like wearing the jacket. Way better than wearing some fat-accountant's leather jacket or just a t-shirt.

Maybe you live in Camden where it's a fucking shooting gallery every night and want a Kevlar-enhanced duvet so you don't have to sleep in the bathtub when shit gets real on your block?

C'mon. How frequent is it really that thugs or anyone the police is after is wearing BA? All the time, eh so you have to be good with the headshots and thighshots?
