Harvey Weinstein and Meryl Streep new movie to make NRA ‘wish they weren't alive’
#1
Quote:Movie producer Harvey Weinstein announced for the first time on Howard Stern’s radio show that he is making a full feature drama to try to destroy the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Mr. Stern asked Mr. Weinstein on Wednesday if he owned a gun. The Hollywood heavyweight replied that he does not and never would. “I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it,” the producer said. “I think the NRA is a disaster area.”

Mr. Weinstein then revealed his secret project about the gun rights group. “I shouldn’t say this but I’ll tell it to you, Howard,” he said. “I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”

The shock jock asked if it was going to be a documentary. Mr. Weinstein said no, that it would be a “big movie like a ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.’”

The movie mogul said his vision was to scare people away from firearms. He foresees moviegoers to leave thinking, “Gun stocks — I don’t want to be involved in that stuff. It’s going to be like crash and burn.”

The five million members of the NRA are law-abiding Americans who are active in preserving the right to protect themselves and their families.

Mr. Weinstein thinks that guns are necessary for self-defense, but only in other countries, during genocides and if it is not personally owned.

What an idiot.

What the heck is "not personally owned"?! Ripped off your NRA neighbor--in Mexico--in a genocide emergency???

These people don't even think about what they are saying. They just say junk and people go for it.

Interesting, looking through the list of movies he's been involved with, it would seem he's made a lot of money producing movies where guns were used and he's apparently friends with noted fat fuck Michael Moore.

I'm not worried. Movies that are created to promote an overt political agenda ALWAYS sacrifice story over agenda, because in order to deliberately promote an agenda you HAVE TO.

I would bet money that Bloomberg is funding this. Should we guess what cities the limited viewings will be held in?

I saw this story this morning and immediately thought this movie will accomplish 2 things:

1) It will remind gun owners that the fight is not over and that there's still a bunch of authoritarian shitheads that are being steered into political battles with the goal of taking our gun rights.

and

2) It will remind authoritarian shitheads, that are being steered into political battles with the goal of taking our gun rights, that the fight is not over and that there's still a bunch of gun owners with guns.

End result, nothing but a bunch of bitching.

Just another of his movies that I will ignore. He is, and has been for years, an idiot. I called him on his hypocrisy years ago when he made an anti statement at the premier of one of his movies, could have been Kill Bill vol 1. Jackass!
