Notice the excessive mention of his ownership of firearms. Without any actual use or involvement of those firearms in any crime. God forbid you own a gun and have a domestic dispute.

They did. They called in the local SWAT team to respond to a domestic dispute because he owned firearms. I'm sure they stole them all from him too. It really could have been any of us. Shrug

No...god forbid you don't exit your apartment when the police tell you to come outside because they have a warrant for your arrest..... god forbid you don't come out while you are talking to crisis negotiators for hours.

Lots of people get into disputes with their spouses or x's while their are weapons in the house.....its what you do after that creates your own destiny.

Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.

Sure, I read those parts of it; but the report's excessive focus on the fact that he owned firearms is irritating.

...and lost of "domestic disturbances" don't require police involvement. The "I'm upset we had a fight so I'm going to go lock myself in a room for a while" type are probably included in those. No mention of actual violence or threats of violence, but "he owns guns, so we'd better roll SWAT and hostage negotiation". Rolleyes

It doesn't work that way. Swat teams don't get called until you choose not to come outside or you choose to make threats. Just because guns are In the house does not mean the police call the swat team automatically. This is Pennsylvania....we would be doing that all day long...all night long...every day.... 20 times a day.

With or without an actual warrant?

I'm not likely to exit my home to speak to a police officer as a matter of personal choice. Why is that cause for an escalated presence?

Because, you must obey your benevolent overlords.

His ownership of guns and the comments he made about them at the onset of the incident are the main focus. Who knows what he said....we will have to wait and see.
