Hello, and see you soon.

Hey fellas,

Just dropping in to say hello. Making my way to Pennsylvania come June or July. Don't know how long I'll be there, but it'll be at least a year, looking at maybe three. Things go well, maybe it'll be a permanent change.

Anyways, there's a lot I don't know yet about PA and its laws and climate and such, so take it easy on me fellas. See you soon. Smile

Welcome!

Thanks, and aint that the truth....they have a new law that's being voted on (It'll get to the Governor's desk.) that'll ban any magazine that LOOKS (cosmetics) like it can hold more than 10 rounds. It's getting a bit silly over here.

Hoping that the climate in PA will be a refreshing and welcome change.

The weather can be interesting around here. You'll have days that will have you using your air conditioner and heater only a few hours apart. The 4 seasons are winter, pothole, road work, hunting.

What part of Pa. are you going to try? There are some beautiful rural areas and there are a few places where you can find urban and inner city existence. (I much prefer the former over the latter). Wherever you settle you'll be close to PAFOA members and should be able to make new friends who are willing to help you get acclimated to the lifestyle here.
We have politicians here who would like to pass ridiculous legislation too, it's our job to either educate them, keep them out of office, or vote them out if they happen to somehow get elected.

Well, as long as it isn't super hot or humid, and as long as there is snow, I think I'll be all right. Smile I used to live in Canadaland so I prefer snow over desert.

Gonna be living in or somewhere around Pittsburgh since that's where my obligations are. I don't mind driving a little, although I used to live 30 minutes away from my old firm, and in morning rush hour that was a 2 hour commute. Rather live close enough that I don't have to deal with such craziness ever again.

We have plenty of summer days when the temp and humidity match at over 90, it can be pretty stifling. You just missed a good winter if you like snow, but if you don't like layers of ice mixed in with the snow you're probably glad you missed winter '13/'14.

Hahaha I'm not a fan of ice, but I'm sad I missed the snow. There's always the upcoming winter though.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Regarding PAFOA, i actually I went to PAFOA and signed up there too, but it seems a little dead there? Odd given that this is a smaller forum, but I'm glad for the warm welcome.

My one question: Point me towards a decent indoor pistol and outdoor rifle range near Pittsburgh and I'll be happy and set! Big Grin
