Just became a member of the forum as of October 11,2017.I joined it mostly in interest and or need to be educated in PA.s gun laws.I don't go open carry,at least not yet. Most of the time I carry my sidearm,a Sig SP2022 .40 S&W on my hikes and camping trips in the woodlands surrounding my hometown.I have a camp located two miles from my home which though it's not state gamelands,is popular among hunters for small game as well as deer and bear. There's coyotes out there as well, which I've only heard, not seen.I'm not the type with a chip on his shoulder, more a mellow guy,but I still want a gun for self defense. So far in my neighborhood my car's been stolen, and a window broken on my new vehicle by the unsavory characters in my neighborhood.Pottsville has it's share of criminals like most medium sized towns do.Most of the crimes are drug related.I feel a bit more secure knowing I have a firearm always loaded with critical defense loads.Time will be spent at an outdoor range so I can become proficient with my firearm.I don't look for trouble nor put myself in danger say if I see a couple guys hanging around my car in a parking lot late at night.

Welcome aboard!  The forums are a little slow but there are plenty of knowledgeable folks around if you have questions!

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
