Hello from the mountains
#1
Good evening, I live really remote in the mountains in North Central. There are several forums that I belong to and enjoy helping fellow gun owners when I can. I love collecting, trading, and shooting firearms (especially the AK platform) and have bowhunted most of my life. I look forward to learning and sharing any knowledge when I can. Regards!

Is that restaurant still in town there in Emporium where you can get that AMAZING burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches made from Texas toast for hamburger buns?

Man, I could tell you some stories about Emporium...

It sounds like you had some good times around here. Ha haa. I haven't seen that special burger yet. I will ask some locals about it. When the wife and I want a nice dinner we go up to the Old Antler Inn on Rt 6 by Gaines. The only thing I miss about Md is the Bowhunting and Crab Cakes. We found the Crab Cakes at the Inn.The only restaurant we know of in town is the Pizza Palace. Lol. We are starting to explore the St Marys area.

I looked it up on Google maps, it's from the "Cabin Kitchen".

I stayed in that town for a few months working water transfer in the mountains up there. I remember a bar that had 151 on shelf for 3 bucks or something. Well, I remember the first few hours anyway.Confused

I grew up in Maryland, Kent Island and Frederick Co. I miss the fresh raw oysters by the bushel and pulling crab pots with Blue Crab for a beer steamed crab feast whenever we wanted it. Old Bay, never Wye River.Wink

As far as Maryland is concerned, I don't miss the place at all. Went back to see my High School town a few years ago and literally got lost. Everything is so overdeveloped and nothing looked the same. Not to mention the gun laws. I think there are a few MD transplants on here.

Yah, Md sucks-especially the gun laws. I grew up in Howard County and left after high school. Moved to Carroll County to raise my kids. My kids grew up and bye bye Commieland. My family is originally from Pa and ever since I was a kid I dreamed of becoming a mountain man. I made damn sure I would never give another nickel to that shit hole state. My pension and taxes stay in PA. It is so nice to be free and have the right to carry. My kids have no plans of staying in Md long term either. They love firearms entirely too much.

What part of Carroll County? I lived in Taneytown during my MUCH younger years for a while too. It's sad to think about someday possibly having the rights to the family farm as I would probably never move there in a million years. Speaking of another area that was once all farmland and now turned into a suburban leftist shithole, that's Taneytown.

I lived in Hampstead, Sykesville and Eldersburg.Too many people and entirely too much traffic. I used to hunt in Frizzleburg near Taneytown. The county is slowly being poisoned and gobbled up by the Libtards.
