Hobson McKown announces run for Sheriff in Centre County
From Centre Daily Times:
Hobson McKown announced his run for Centre County sheriff on Sunday. McKown, a resident of Ferguson Township for over a decade, said he is running for sheriff because it “is merely a natural extension of my civic activism. Governance is no spectator sport.” A computer programmer by trade, McKown said he has experience with law and local governance. The 33-year-old, who ran unsuccessfully for district judge in Ferguson Township two years ago, said he is running on the Republican ticket to directly challenge incumbent Sheriff Bryan Sampsel. As sheriff, he would like to abolish the practice of civil asset forfeiture, whereby law enforcement takes assets from a person suspected of being involved of a crime or illegal activity without charging that person with wrongdoing.
No other person filed a petition, so the Democratic box for Sheriff goes empty.  I will win that on write-ins.

I am the only announced Sheriff candidate to have never entered a home without either warrant or consent.  Registered Centre County Republicans may file objections to defective petitions between today and Mar. 20.

Please keep in mind that Bryan Sampsel, as deputy, was by former Sheriff Denny Nau ordered to go to my home and enter it without my presence, consent, or warrant, for the purpose of taking my firearms.  Those firearms disappeared for about a decade.
2008-09-10: I told the sheriffs 'no', and 'no' means no.
Superior Court 2010-10-07: no proof of lawful entry.
Superior Court 2013-10-22: sheriffs not authorized to take non-firearm property (P.S. They also made $6,405 disappear without receipt.)
Centre Common Pleas 2017-06-10: sheriffs can't take guns from home or cash from bank for bail; filed motion for return was unnecessary.

I asked the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to hold void the unlicensed concealed carry prohibition.  From what unlawful gun control has he attempted to protect us?

Hobson McKown versus Bryan Sampsel.  Whom will hold that the right "Shall not be questioned"?  [Authorized/paid by Hobson McKown.]  Press Release of 2019-03-11.

Please note that contrary to the article, my goal to abolish the "Stupid Tax" is not one referring to "civil asset forfeiture", which is already half-dead in Pennsylvania as of 2018 (notably already well-stated in 1928 and 1909).   The point is to end this now-regular behavior of making property disappear, physically and judicially.   That seizure which lacks executive chain-of-custody record-making from point of control or custody, or which continues without prompt and continual judicial recognition, having the affirmative duty to return, will be viewed as theft.  We have well-defined processes for this whole thing; how silly that we've forgotten them!
