Holder Says DOJ Wants To Explore Use of Gun Tracking Bracelets…
#1
Quote:Attorney General Eric Holder said on Friday that gun tracking bracelets are something the Justice Department (DOJ) wants to “explore” as part of its gun control efforts.

When discussing gun violence prevention programs within the DOJ, Holder told a House appropriations subcommittee that his agency is looking into technological innovations.

“I think that one of the things that we learned when we were trying to get passed those common sense reforms last year, Vice President Biden and I had a meeting with a group of technology people and we talked about how guns can be made more safe,” he said.

“By making them either through finger print identification, the gun talks to a bracelet or something that you might wear, how guns can be used only by the person who is lawfully in possession of the weapon.”

Because firearms are sophisticated and complex devices that cannot possibly be tampered with to get around such a thing. Morons.

Oh, they'll counter that by making it against the law to use (or allow to be used) a firearm without the bracelet, thereby reaching their goal of making law-abiding citizens into criminals.

And what are they going to do about the existing 300 million firearms in the country that don't have this technology?

Does not prevent getting shot by your own gun as long as it is within range of the bracelet. Then the killer just takes the bracelet AND the gun.

What about jamming devices that can disrupt the communication between gun and bracelet? Disarming you with a push of a button.

Holder needs a tracking bracelet . . . . . . around his damn neck.
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.

Um, what about someone who is not a registered owner of a firearm using that firearm for self defense (assuming the person is not breaking any laws up to defending themselves). They are then legally in possession of the firearm (at least how I understand PA laws) that they are not the registered owner of with a lawful reason to fire the firearm.

Even simpler: in PA firearms are not registered to people, right? Wink

And, if these bracelets are "tracking" bracelets, then isn't this a violation of my right to be free from searches?
