House Reps. call to ban import of “military style firearms"
#1
While we're all focused on the Bundy ranch...

Quote:On Wednesday, 82 members of the House of Representatives called on President Obama to put a ban on imports of what they deem to be “military-style firearms.”

This ban, according to the lawmakers, would require no congressional action as the President has very broad authority under the 1968 Gun Control Act to prohibit the importation of firearms and ammunition unless they are generally recognized as particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes.

“Restoring the import ban is a no-brainer that would require no legislative action, would make our nation safer and would support neighboring Mexico where drug violence is fueled by firearms flowing south from the United States,” he added.

I'm sorry, but does that fuckstick remember something called Fast and Furious?

Admit nothing.  Deny everything. Demand proof.
If we lie to the government, it's a crime. If the government lies to the people, it's called politics.

Yep. It sounds like he is using F&F (exports) as justification for his law (prohibiting imports).

Problem is, there are these not-so-little common sporting events known as three gun matches, and hunting with semi-automatic rifles. These are used for common sporting reasons today.

This is where people saying the 2nd isn't about duck hunting could come back to bite them.

Great, I unintentionally plagiarized by not reading the other forum that often. Tongue Big Grin
