HUH?? Popular Restaurant Creates Gun-Free Zone in the Name of “Warmth”

Panera Bread

Panera Bread is asking customers not to bring firearms into its locations, becoming the latest company to take a clear anti-gun stance in an attempt to “preserve the environment we are working to create for our guests and associates.”

The new policy asks that no one other than law enforcement officers bring guns into any Panera Bread location. http://therighttobear.com/huh-popular-re...of-warmth/

Old news indeed. I've been the one near us, open carry, twice since this press release. Same as Starbucks, Target, Chipotle, etc. I'd go to Krogers(sp?) too but I don't know where one is.

My belief is that these "iffy" policies are mostly intended to shut up the whiners, whoever they may be. Well I set a better example than that, and I will not eagerly yield ground to the likes of Bloomburg and Watts.

A clear and outright ban, yes. But these wishy-washy policies are just an opportunity for me to get back in there and re-win hearts and minds. I spend good money, I smile and I'm pleasant. I tip well, I clean up after myself, I even clean up after hippy scum if I find their garbage in my path.

I make sure that I'm the customer the want to see returning. The last time I was in Starbucks I wore my "I Love Guns and Coffee" t-shirt, and every employee in the store wanted one. I wrote down the web address, I guess I made someone some money. That's the 3rd time that's happened in a Starbucks.

I haven't seen any "no guns" signs at any of these locations.

Neither have I (except toys r us), and I haven't seen any at the cinemas or malls but I've read too many stories of people being asked to leave, and then perp walked to the door.

I won't put myself through experience, and I won't give the antis the satisfaction of seeing it.

The other places have non-confrontational policies.

If there's no sign on the entrance and you're concealed, no problem. What they don't know won't hurt them.
