I have to sell some guns for my grandfather, should I buy them myself?
#1
He needs me to sell them ASAP so I will just be taking them to Tanners or Quinby's. But some of them would kill me to see go. Among some others, he has an M1 Carbine that's in mint condition, and a Winchester 94 in .32 Winchester Special. I think I'm going to buy the M1 Carbine because it's awesome, but I'm split on the Winchester. I don't own any lever guns and always wanted one, but is the .32 Winchester Special a good cartridge? Is it hard to find? What would be a fair price for me to offer for it?

See if you can buy the ones you like off of him at a cheap price or maybe he can even gift 1 or 2 of them to you. Also since he is your grandpop maybe he'll do a payment plan with you. Lastly, whatever you don't want you should post here. The members here (or another site) will probably give you more money than a gun shop.

What you are describing is the way it SHOULD go, but he needs the money today and gifting is out of the question. I already tried listing them online awhile back but it was taking too long and he just wants the money right away. And I can't argue with him since he's my grandpop, lol.

Are those the only two or the only two you are interested in?

I'd get them both...even if they're safe queens...someday when you hand them to your child you'll have a great story to tell.

I agree with p98, my papa just passed last month. I'm getting a few of his things with sentimental value. Army medals, his HAM radio. Those are things I will likely keep forever.

Well I just sold 3 out of 5 guns to Tanners. One other one was too rare for Tanners to put a price on. The last one (M1 Carbine) my dad and I decided to go 50/50 on and buy it from my grandfather.

I hated to sell them, but he really needs the money right now, and neither my dad nor I can afford to buy them all. At least we got the one. And there are a couple others that he gave to us a few years ago. So it's not like they are all gone.

ETA: I actually already have two guns from him that I will keep forever, not including the M1 carbine. I have a Springfield 1903 that he sporterized into a deer gun, and a Ruger Blackhawk 357 mag. Sure, I'd love to have them all, but at least I got 3.
