It must hurt a bit being you were on that forum for so very long.

Look what has happened over the last couple of years.  People left, no more group shoots and the new wave of cuckoos seem to be running the asylum now.

Remember how much fun the forum was?  How many friendships were made?  The fighting between the members was hilarious, much like Peggy and Al Bundy.  Then everyone kissed and made up and roasted each other in the chat.

Eh, I think PAFOA has finally shot its load.  Sad, very very sad.

And how is the beautiful Mrs. EM?

I noticed that as well. Early on this year the group activities just about stopped altogether.

It is what it is.

There's a whole big thread about it there complete with "good riddens" and pizza for everyone!

Hello Emptymag!  welcome

I couldn't find your thread but I found CR's.  What was he talking about, new policy?

There isn't a thread of "mine".

The new "policy" is no more "political", or "controversial" topic discussion allowed - unless it pertains to firearms - sort of.

Here. Read this gem...

If you wanna skip to the part where I posted my ill-received "rant", see here...

A week or so after the above thread was closed, the following was posted...
http://forum.pafoa.org/support-suggestio...iment.html

Apparently, I posted another doozy near the end of that one as well.

I pretty much made up my mind when I posted in the first thread. I just waited to see how things were looking and when it was clear that there was no real interest in reviewing the decision, or seeking a workable alternative, I decided I was finished as a moderator.

Why can't I see your posts, the ones to which you have links?

I had a nice peaceful two months of perm ban before I would have left because of them closing the Politics forum. Seems funny because that happens often when I leave anything (rather or not it is my idea or no).    Now I have to deal with the same a$$muches here Smile  Seriously though.  I was surprised to find that I was actually happier after my 3 day withdraw..

My guess is that politics will be discussed here far less often than at PAFOA. My guess is this will become what dan wanted/wants PAFOA to be, a place for people that are actually willing to be active in the political arena.

The politics forum only kept the old timers like me around (i was one of the guys that donated initial money for PAFOA) because the shoots and the marches and the picnics really never materialized much at PAFOA so we needed to do something waiting for the next big story or the next shoot. Why not talk politics? Yeah it was the same message from each member over and over again but who gives a crap? You know what I'm going to write and you know what kevin and andrew were going to write. Why bother looking if it bothered you?

Honestly eventually I flipped out. At one point my posts were always nice and polite and fact based, then i saw post after post of anti-muslim and anti-gay and anti-catholic and anti..... I became an @$$#0!3 and I don't give a flying #^@& Smile My big thing was trying to get people to go to marches and picnics and stuff but got quite discouraged that unless I pushed it wouldn't happen.. I know I wasn't the only one organizing marches and many many people here helped in many ways and some even far more than I did, but when you post for a march and people don't respond unless you brow beat them, screw it.

To this day we could have a sit down breakfast/lunch with lt. healy and lt. king from philadelphia! If we did that well we very well could have a sit down with the commissioner, governor, district attorneys, law makers and the like. Instead we let that soda go flat and i doubt anyone is really interested in making it happen now.

I'm off that rant for now.

Empty Mag welcome! Great to see you here.

I started to withdraw from the other place after a mod sent me a very nasty, abusive PM.  Angry

It appears his links take you to the beginning of the thread, you would have to search through to find the posts he is referring to.
